Internazionale will not be making a move for AS Roma wonderkid Nicolo Zaniolo, says the club’s CEO Giuseppe Marotta. The young midfielder joined the Romans from Inter in 2018 and has developed into on of their stars. There have been rumours of Inter wanting the Italian U21 international back, but Marotta has downplayed these rumours.
“He’s one of most interesting players in the league, but we haven’t approached Roma officials and probably won’t,” Marotta told Sky Sport Italia. The attacking midfielder recently returned to football after he tore his anterior cruciate ligament, but he did not feature during the match between Roma and Inter on Sunday.
Marotta was also asked about Edin Dzeko, who has been topping Antonio Conte’s wanted list since last season. “It’s a bit inappropriate to talk about the transfer market now,” Marotta said. “There are competitions that still have to end and the upcoming window will be an unusual one.”
