Gareth Bale was left out of Real Madrid‘s match day squad for their final match against Leganes (2-2). After the game Zinedine Zidane told reporters that the omission from the Welshman was a ‘technical decision’. Bale has had a terrible season for Madrid, only making two appearances for the club since the return of football in June.
James Rodriguez, another Real Madrid star, has been left out for the past five matches. Zidane discussed both Bale and Rodriguez after their final league game. “You know what happened with one [James]. The other is a technical decision,” the Madrid coach said, via AS, referring to the situation of Bale.
Meanwhile, Luka Jovic came off the bench in the second half to make his second appearance since the coronavirus-enforced break. The young Serbian has been linked with a move away after scoring just two goals in 26 appearances this season as he failed to make a good impression in the league and Champions League.
“As always when I talk about Luka, what I say is that he is young,” Zidane said. “He has talent, but it has been a difficult season for him, especially with injuries. Of course things that have happened to him, I trust him. We will see next year.” AC Milan and Hertha Berlin are reportedly interested in signing Jovic this summer.
