After Marca released their worst signings XI, the Spanish newspaper also released their team of the season. Lionel Messi has been selected in the squad, but the Argentinian is the only player from FC Barcelona. The Argentinian had a strong season for the Blaugrana’s as he scored 25 goals and provided 22 assists.
Champions Real Madrid have been given the most places on the team. The club from the Spanish capital has four players included into the team: Thibaut Courtois, Sergio Ramos, Casemiro and Karim Benzema. Martin Odegaard could be considered as the fifth Real Marid player as the Norwegian midfielder is on loan from the club at Real Sociedad.
Other players on the team are Sevilla‘s Diego Carlos and Lucas Ocampos, who helped their team finish fourth, and Villarreal‘s Santi Cazorla and Gerard Moreno for claiming fifth place in LaLiga. Felipe Monteiro is the only player from Atletico Madrid on the list.
Marca also published a ‘Second Best XI’ and in that team Barcelona have been represented more than once.
