Mesut Ozil rejects offer from Turkish giants Fenerbahce

Mesut Ozil has reportedly rejected the chance to move to Fenerbahce this summer. According to German outlet Bild the Turkish giants have made contact with both Arsenal and the midfielder to talk about a potential deal. However, Ozil has decided to reject the offer as he is planning to sit out his contract at Arsenal.

Ozil has been an outcast at Arsenal since Arsene Wenger left the club. The German attacking midfielder did play under Unai Emery but as the season progressed he was dropped from the team and eventually the squad. After Emery was sacked Ozil had a short spell in the first team under Mikel Arteta, but has again lost his place on the team.

The midfielder has not featured for the Gunners since English football has returned following the corona virus lockdown and it seems likely he will not feature for the club again this season. The 31-year-old Ozil has a contract until the summer of 2021 and is the highest paid player at Arsenal, earning €385.000-a-week.
