Cristiano Ronaldo played a big part in Juventus’ 2-1 win over Lazio on Monday. The Portugal international scored two goals for the Bianconeri as they have taken a giant step towards the title in the Serie A. Ronaldo’s goals also meant the forward has become the first player to ever score 50 goals in the Serie A, LaLiga and Champions League.
And with his 50th goal he also became the fastest player in Serie A history to score 50 goals: 61 games, whereas Andriy Shevchenko took 68 games to score this amount of goals. After the game Ronaldo talked about his record, but insisted that the team’s performance is more important to him.
“Records are always important, but the important thing is that the team wins. We are a phenomenal team and we showed that again today, although we always want to improve and raise the bar. These things are nice, but the Capocannoniere title is a natural process that comes as a consequence of scoring to win games for the team.”
