Maurizio Sarri has hailed Cristiano Ronaldo, labeling the Portuguese forward as ‘extraordinary’ after the Juventus forward became the fastest player to reach 50 goals in the Serie A and the first player to score 50 goals in the Champions League, La Liga, Serie A and Premier League. Ronaldo scored two goals as Juventus coast past Lazio (2-1) to take a huge step towards a new Serie A title on Monday.
Sarri lauded his forward after the game: “When Cristiano smells blood… He’s extraordinary, as he recovers so quickly between games,” Juve head coach Sarri told Sky Sport Italia. “It’s not just physical, but psychological. He could be someone who uses up so much energy in each game, but he recovers it every time and he’s world class in the mind as well as the legs.”
Ronaldo has scored 30 goals for Juventus this season and with some games to go he could be breaking Gonzalo Higuain‘s record 36 goals for Napoli. Asked if Ronaldo could break the record Sarri said: “If he puts his mind to something, he’s very difficult to stop. We’ll see if we should rest him over the next few rounds, but if he’s still in this shape, then he might not need it.”
