Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has yet to sign a new contract with the Gunners and Diario Sport claim that the Gabon forward has been holding off his club to wait for FC Barcelona. The Catalans want to sign a new striker this summer and Aubameyang is on their potential shortlist.
The Catalan giants are keen on signing a new forward this summer with Internazionale‘s Lautaro Martinez being their number one target. The Argentinian, however, would be too expensive for Barcelona to sign this summer which could lead to them looking at alternatives. Aubameyang could be that ideal alternative.
The forward has one year left on his contract at Arsenal and if the former Borussia Dortmund star rejects to sign a new deal, they may decide to cash-in. Aubameyang joined Arsenal in January 2018 in a club record €64m move from the Bundesliga and he has scored 66 goals in 106 appearances.
