Brighton Hove & Albion will be playing in the Premier League next season and the Seagulls are already looking ahead to the next campaign. The Evening Standard reports that the club is looking at Ainsley Maitland-Niles. The Arsenal defender is reportedly looking for a new club after he fell out of the first team at the Emirates Stadium
Maitland-Niles has three years left on his contract and that makes a move unlikely this summer. The 22-year-old is not considered a regular starter, but is a well-respected member of Mikel Arteta’s squad. Maitland-Niles is able to play on the midfield but also as a left-back, which makes him a valuable asset for the Gunners.
Also, with the Gunners looking to sell Matteo Guendouzi this summer a move from Maitland-Niles seems very unlikely. Arsenal would need to receive a substantial bid to convince them to sell the versatile England U21 international. Maitland-Niles has played 98 games for Arsenal, scoring three goals and assisting five.
