Southampton midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is ready to snub a contract offer from Everton as he prefers to join Tottenham Hotspur. The Danish midfielder is set to leave the Saints this summer after he rejected to extend his contract beyond 2021. While Everton had a €28m bid accepted for the midfielder, he has set his heart to a Tottenham move.
Everton have been given permission to hold contract talks with Hojbjerg and his management, but the midfielder is poised to reject any offer the Toffees make as he wants to join Tottenham. The Londoners have held talks with Southampton, but are yet to match the bid made by Everton.
Spurs are believed to be confident to finalise a deal, while Everton could be withdrawing their bid due to their belief Hojbjerg does not want a move to Goodison Park. Spurs could also try to include Kyle Walker-Peters in the deal. The full-back is currently on loan at St. Mary’s and has recently claimed a spot in the first team.
