Dortmund bound Bellingham reveals racist abuse after final Birmingham game

Jude Bellingham completed a transfer from Birmingham City to Borussia Dortmund last week and the 17-year-old has now revealed he has been subject of online racist abuse. Bellingham played his final game for Birmingham on Wednesday and after the game he posted a message on Twitter, stating that it was ‘disgusting’

The message had called Bellingham an ‘overrated talent’ and said ‘black people only think about money’. The talented midfielder completed a €30m move to the Bundesliga giants as Dortmund beat several European giants including Manchester United, FC Barcelona and Real Madrid.

After he played his last game for Birmingham, a 3-1 loss to Derby County, Bellingham re-entered the pitch and had an emotional moment to to say his goodbyes to staff and journalists at the game. “This is my club and I love this club to bits. I hope I showed that in the performances while I was here. I hope I was fun to watch, I hope I was fun to interact with because I wanted to bridge the gap between the players and the fans. I’ll only look back on Birmingham City with love and fond memories.”
