Paris Saint-Germain are expecting to keep both Neymar and Kylian Mbappe at the club next season. Le Parisien report that the club is hoping to revive contract talks with Neymar, with the intention of extending his current deal beyond its current expiry date in 2022. The report claims that PSG will also be holding talks with Mbappe amid Real Madrid rumours.
The giants could be benefiting from the coronavirus pandemic as the financial impact of the pandemic prohibits clubs like Barcelona and Real Madrid to spend large transfer fees this summer. This could help PSG to re initiate talks with Neymar and his agent and try to have him sign a new and improved contract until the summer of 2024.
The Brazilian super star has told the club on several occasion that he wants to move back to Barcelona to team up with Lionel Messi once again. However, Barcelona do not have the funds to sign the 28-year-old. As things currently stand, Neymar is set to remain at PSG next season with the Parisians hoping they will have time to convince him to stay part of their project.
Meanwhile Mbappe has already announced that he will be staying at PSG next season. But that is not enough for the club as they still fear he could be leaving the club during the 2021 transfer window with Real Madrid being touted as the most likely destination. PSG want to start talks with Mbappe to extend his current deal to at least 2024 and possibly even longer, hoping that the forward wants to become a club legend and remain with the club for the largest part of his career.
