Chelsea will not punish manager Frank Lampard after he had a bust-up with Jurgen Klopp and several others of the Liverpool coaching staff during his side’s 5-3 loss at Anfield. The Reds were awarded a free-kick just before half-time and Lampard was angry with the decision. In the follow-up he had words with both Klopp and his coaching staff.
Videos show that the Chelsea boss made contact with someone on Liverpools bench before exploding in a heated and foul-mouthed argument with Klopp, repeatedly telling the German to ‘f*** off’. To make it even worse for Lampard Trent Alexander-Arnold scored the free kick after the foul, giving Liverpool a 1-0 lead.
The Times have now reported that the incident has been discussed by Lampard and his club. It is believed that the Blues will not punish their coach ahead of their important final league game of the season against Wolverhampton Wanderers. Chelsea need a single point to secure Champions League football next season.
