Everton are in the market for a new right full-back this summer and the Toffees have found a possible transfer target in the Ligue 1. Sporting Director Marcel Brands has marked Olympique Lyon full-back Kenny Tete as an ideal player to strengthen Carlo Ancelotti’s side for next season.
French outlet Sportune report that Lyon have placed Tete, who is a Dutch international, on the transfer market as the club is looking to lower their wages. The former Ajax defender earns around 1.5M per year at Les Gones and is not considered to be a leading player. Therefore Lyon is open to sell Tete with Goodison Park a possible destination.
The 24-year-old has one year left on his contract and would not be expensive to acquire for Everton. Tete joined Lyon in a €4m transfer from Ajax in 2017 and it is believed that Lyon would accept bids around the €10m mark for the defender. Tete could also decide to stay with Lyon and leave the club on a free transfer once his contract expires next season.
