FC Barcelona are not worried that wonderkid Ansu Fati will be tempted to join Manchester United this summer. Mundo Deportivo report that the young winger wants to stay at the Catalan giants next season, despite efforts of Manchester United making multiple attempts to convince Fati to join them.
Fati’s current contract has a buyout clause of €170m and Barcelona are confident that United will not activate the clause this summer due to the effects of the coronacrisis pandemic. Barca are currently preparing a new contract offer for Fati, who enjoyed his breakout season with the club.
With his new deal Fati is expected to be formally named a member of the first team squad, he will be given a wage hike and a massive increase in his buyout clause. While Barcelona has faith no club will be activating the clause this summer, the club is keen on increasing the buyout clause to at least €400m.
