Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero could make his return to full fitness in time for their Champions League round of 16 second leg clash with Real Madrid. Pep Guardiola revealed that he expects to have a squad of fit players ready to take on the Spanish giants on August 8.
Aguero suffered a knee injury last month just after the Premier League had restarted and needed surgery his left knee. He was operated in Barcelona the day after he suffered the injury and he has been working on his return since then. The forward has been seen working hard at Man City’s training ground, training two to three times a day.
Guardiola hinted that he expects that Aguero will be back in time. “I think against Madrid everyone will be fit apart from (Benjamin) Mendy, who is suspended,” Guardiola said. “So in the training sessions everyone will be fit and we’ll go for the senior guys for this game” The first leg between the two giants ended in a 1-2 victory for Man City.
