While Lazio have not been able to challenge Juventus for the league title in the Serie A, head coach Simone Inzaghi is happy with the current season. The Romans have secured a top four finish and will return in the Champions League next season. Lazio will face Hellas Verona this weekend and Inzaghi hopes his side will fight for the win despite achieving their main objective.
“We know this is a tough game and we are up against a Verona side who have done so well this season, but we’ll try to put in a strong performance, regardless of the situation in the table,” Inzaghi told Lazio Style Channel. “We have reached our main objective, a top four finish. There are still three rounds to go, so we’ve got to end it in the best possible way.”
Lazio is coming back from an injury crisis after the club saw a total of nine players out with injuries since the return of football in June. “I have a few decisions to make, we have to see how some have recovered from the last game and today’s training session. Francesco Acerbi, Adam Marusic, Denis Vavro and Danilo Cataldi probably will travel with us, but are not in great shape. The others will be ready, except for suspended Manuel Lazzari, while Senad Lulic, Stefan Radu and Lucas Leiva are out for the rest of the season.”
