Former FC Barcelona great Xavi Hernandez has revealed he has been tested positive with the corona virus. The Spanish manager will lay down his tasks at Al-Sadd with immediate effect and wil go into quarantine. Once he has recovered he will be returning to the Qatari club.
Xavi has released a statement on social media, revealing he has been struck with the Covid-19 virus. Al-Sadd will play Al-Khor on Saturday but Xavi will not be present. ‘A few days ago I have been tested positive with the coronavirus. I am feeling okay but I will follow the protocol and will now self-isolate”, a statement on Instagram read.
The Qatari Super League is set to make it’s return after the league was suspended in March due to the coronavirus pandemic. This weekend the first games were plannend. Al-Sadd have announced that they will play Al-Khor despite missing Xavi. Al-Sadd sit in third place on the table, ten points behind league leaders Al-Duhail.
