Zinedine Zidane will allow his son to leave Madrid to pursue new adventure

Zinedine Zidane has decided he will allow his son Luca to leave Real Madrid after 16 years. The 22-year-old’s contract is set to expire next week and he has not been offered a new deal. The young French goalkeeper is reportedly heading to the Ligue 1 with interest from several clubs including Montpellier.

Zidane Jr. has made two senior appearances for Madrid, both under his father. This season he was sent on loan to Racing Santander. He is not set to leave the club and begin a new adventure. Diario AS claim that the 22-year-old has already held talks with Montpellier, who appear to be in the lead for his signature.

Meanwhile Real Madrid will have quite some movements in the goalkeeper department. Zidane will leave, while Ukrainian goalkeeper Andriy Lunin will make his return this summer after a season on loan with Valladolid. He will be given the chance to claim a spot in the first team during the preseason.

Real Madrid’s current second goalkeeper Alphonse Areola is set to make a return to Paris Saint-Germain. The report claims that Zidane has opted against taking up the buy clause option on the 27-year-old. Areola has three years left on his contract with the Parisians.
