Former Real Madrid boss John Toshack says his old club will need to have a good talk with Gareth Bale over his future at the club. The Welsh forward has been frozen out of the first team by Zinedine Zidane and it seems unlikely that Bale will get a new chance with the first team next season.
Toshak, who managed Real Madrid twice during his career, says the two parties need to sit down and resolve their differences in the summer. “These things happen in football. Things do not work out, and the coach has other ideas,” he told an interview with BBC Sport. “But they have to sit down and talk and work it out. I think there has to be some dialogue.”
Earlier this week Bale’s agent Jonathan Barnett has stated that his client is happy in Madrid and that has no intention of leaving the club during the summer transfer window. It is believed that Bale, who was close to leaving Real last summer, wants to sit out the final two years of his contract at the Santiago Bernabeu.
