Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga could be accepting a major wage cut in order to complete a return to Spain, the Sun reports. The 25-year-old earns around €175.000-a-week at Stamford Bridge and that makes it difficult for the Blues to find a new club for the goalkeeper.
However, Kepa is aware of Chelsea wanting to get rid of him this summer and that made the former Athletic Bilbao goaltender overthink his future. He has been linked with moves to Valencia, Sevilla and Atletico Madrid as a part of a player swap with Jan Oblak. To complete a deal Kepa would be willing to take a cut in his wages.
While he would prefer to keep his current personal terms, he is aware that he won’t be receiving the same level of wages at a different club. Also, it is believed that Kepa is fed-up with the lack of trust Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has been showing, which makes it more likely that the goalkeeper will be leaving Stamford Bridge this summer.
