Lionel Messi wants Barcelona to replace Setien with Bielsa

A report from the Sun claims that Lionel Messi has requested Marcelo Bielsa to be appointed as the new FC Barcelona boss next season. The report claims that the Argentinian star forward wants his club to go all out on his fellow countryman after Bielsa secured promotion with Leeds United to the Premier League.

Bielsa is considered to be one of the best coaches in the world as he has his teams play a stunning form of attacking football. Messi believes this style will suit the squad of Barcelona perfectly and he has now urged his club to make contact with Leeds and Bielsa over a possible move this summer.

Meanwhile the future of Quique Setien remains uncertain. The former Real Betis boss failed to impress in Barcelona’s LaLiga campaign, losing out on the title to Real Madrid. The Barcelona board however is keeping faith in Setien and will allow him to manage Barcelona during the return of the Champions League in August.
