Manchester City are considering a shock move for Dani Ceballos if Arsenal fail to land the Spanish midfielder on a second loan spell this summer. Express reports that the Citizens will be talking with Real Madrid about a potential deal in August when the two teams will meet in their second leg of the round of 16 in the Champions League.
Ceballos has been impressing for Arsenal this season, despite missing two months due to injuries. Since the return of football in June he has been a first team regular for Mikel Arteta, putting in some quality performances for the Gunners against Manchester City in the FA Cup and Liverpool in the Premier League.
With Arsenal not being able to sign Ceballos on a permanent transfer, his future in Londen is in doubt. Madrid are ready to sell several players this summer in order to lower their wage costs and generate funds to sign new players. Real are looking to receive around €40m to €50m for Ceballos, who has made 23 appearances for Arsenal in the Premier League.
