Manchester United and Chelsea have completed the top four of the Premier League. On the final game day of the season United won 0-2 away at Leicester City to claim third place, while Chelsea beat Wolverhampton Wanderers 2-0 at Stamford Bridge. Tottenham Hotspur managed to benefit fro Wolves’ loss and have secured a ticket for the Europa League.
Leicester City – Manchester United 0-2
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side knew what had to be done away at Leicester. The Mancunians needed a point to secure a top four finish and they dully delivered. United would open the score in the second half of the game through a penalty. Johnny Evans made a foul on Anthony Martial and Bruno Fernandes scored the first goal of the game. Later on Jesse Lingard managed to double Manchester United‘s lead but not before Evans collected a red card for a two-footed challenge on Tom McTominay.
Chelsea – Wolverhampton Wanderers 2-0
The Blues knew that only a loss against Wolves could hold them away from the top four and that showed. Chelsea did not impress, whilst Wolves had troubles keeping the ball. Mason Mount opened the score for Chelsea with a free kick just before half-time. Seconds later Olivier Giroud doubled the score for Chelsea after a through pass by Mount. In the second half Wolves did not have the power to enforce a goal, keeping the score at 2-0.
