Manchester United are still keen on signing young Sporting Portugal left-back Nuno Mendes. Portuguese outlet A Bola reports that the Red Devils have been sending scouts to Lisbon over the past weeks to have a look at the young defender. It is believed that United will be making a move for Mendes this summer.
Despite having Luke Shaw and Brandon Williams available for the position, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen on adding a third left-back to his squad. Mendes is an attacking minded full-back who can also play as a wingback, midfielder or even a left forward. Solskjaer has been reportedly been impressed with the performances of the youngster.
A transfer for Mendes could be made easy for United since the player is represented by Miguel Pinho, who also represents Bruno Fernandes. The attacking midfielder joined Old Trafford in January from Sporting and it is reported that United and the Portuguese giants have developed a very good relationship during the negotiations for Fernandes.
