Paris Saint-Germain want to sign a striker this summer after the club had already signed Mauro Icardi on a permanent deal from Internazionale. The Parisians want to sign a good back-up striker for Icardi and according to RMC sport the club is keen on a deal for Hertha Berlin forward Matheus Cunha.
PSG said their goodbye’s to Edinson Cavani in July whilst Maxim Choupo Moting’s deal will expire at the end of next month. Next to Icardi PSG have Kylian Mbappe and Arnaud Kalimuendo to play as a centre-forward. For that reason Leonardo has been looking to sign a back-up striker who is young enough to develop into a class player.
The 21-year-old Brazilian signed for Hertha in January in an €18m transfer from RB Leipzig. Cunha had a good first half season in Berlin, scoring five goals and three assists in the period after the lockdown due to the coronavirus was lifted. Cunha still has a long-term contract in Germany, which would make him an expensive target for PSG.
