After his breakout season with Arsenal in the Premier League, 18-year-old Bukayo Saka is urged to make a decision between England and Nigeria. The teenager was born in England but both his parents are Nigerian, making him eligible to play for both nations. Saka has represented England’s youth teams up to Under-19 level.
“It’s a tough choice,” Saka told Sky Sports. “I’m happy to have represented England at youth level but I’m also proud of my Nigerian heritage from my parents. We haven’t been picked by any team so it’s about staying humble and when the time comes we’ll make the decision.”
Saka recently signed a new long-term contract at Arsenal, securing his future at the club. “I’m 18 and it’s been a dream to play for this club. I came up from the academy this season so I feel like I have to take it game by game. Wherever the boss puts me, I have to try and give my best. I’m so grateful to be here”, he said after he penned down his new deal.
