Tottenham Hotspur have moved into poleposition to sign Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson this summer, the Evening Standard have reported. The Spurs are looking to take advantage of Bournemouth’s near-certain relegation from the Premier League, as they plan to sign a back-up for Harry Kane this summer.
Since Bournemouth are likely to play in the Championship next season, Wilson is expected to be one of the first players out of the door. Several Premier League sides including Newcastle United and Leicester City have shown interest in the England international.
However, it is believed that Tottenham are in front as the Spurs are ready to step up their interest in the 28-year-old and could make an offer round €15m for the forward. Jose Mournho is eager to sign a replacement for Harry Kane after he failed to sign one in the January transfer window.
