Zlatan Ibrahimovic is set for a contract extension at AC Milan, reports from Italy have claimed. The Swedish forward was unsure about his future at the club as the Italians were in talks to replace Stefano Pioli with German Ralf Ragnick. Pioli, however, signed a new three year deal earlier this week and that has opened up the door for Zlatan.
Ibrahimovic joined Milan in January and the forward has scored 7 goals since his transfer from LA Galaxy. Earlier on he expressed his concern at the current status of the club and even hit out at Ragnick stating: “Who is Ralf Ragnick? I have never heard of him.” He then speculated on his own future by stating that Milan should match his ambitions.
But now that Milan have decided to extend the contract of Pioli, Zlatan would beek on extending his stay at the club for at least another season. Vito Angele, a journalist from Italy, has claimed that talks between Zlatan and Milan are already ongoing and that an agreement is close, wit Milan possibly announcing the new deal as early as next week.
