AC Milan want to profit from Espanyol relegation to sign Marc Roca

AC Milan are hoping to profit from the relegation from Spanish side Espanyol to sign midfielder Marc Roca this summer. El Mundo Deportivo reports that the Italians have held preliminary talks with Espanyol about the midfielder. Roca has a €40m release clause in his contract.

However, following Espanyol’s relegation from the LaLiga, it seems likely that Espanyol are willing to accept lower bids for their star player. Last summer Bayern Munich had interest in signing the player but the Germans saw their €18m rejected by Espanyol. With their relegation to the Segunda Division it seems likely that a matching bid could be accepted.

The 23-year-old midfielder is considered as one of the best playmakers in LaLiga and he has already been linked with several Spanish teams, including FC Barcelona, Atletico Madrid and Sevilla. Roca has made 119 first-team appearances for Espanyol, scoring three goals and providing six assists.
