Arthur Melo is refusing to play for FC Barcelona anymore, several reports from Spain have claimed. The Brazilian is set to join Juventus after the summer in a deal worth around €80m. Arthur is currently in his homeland Brazil and does not want to return to Europe anytime soon.
After Barcelona played their final league game against Alaves head coach Quique Setien decided to give his team some time off to recover and regenerate energy for the return of the Champions League in August. Arthur used this opportunity to travel back to his homeland to visit his family. He aas then expected back on Monday to undergo a corona test but failed to report back.
It is believed that Barcelona have warned the midfielder that he is violating his contract and that the midfielder will face a ban and fine upon return to the club. It is stated that Arthur is not planning to move back to Barcelona as he is refusing to play for the club any longer. The midfielder joined the Blaugranas two years ago in a €40m transfer from Gremio.
