Liverpool starlet Virgil van Dijk has enjoyed a stellar season for the Reds in the Premier League. The central defender has played every single minute of the team’s title winning campaign. Liverpool closed the season on Sunday with a 3-1 victory over Newcastle United and Van Dijk scored a header for his team.
Asked about his appearance achievement Van Dijk said: “I’m very proud for that and I won’t take that for granted. It’s never easy to keep yourself fit, you have to also be a bit lucky and obviously I try to look after myself in the best way possible.”
“It’s an incredible feeling and I think it’s the second season in a row that I’ve been playing 38 games so I’m proud of that and hopefully I can keep that going.” With the win at Newcastle Liverpool have managed an impressive 99 points in the Premier League, the second most ever in the Premier League.
