Chelsea are hoping that Willian will be available to play in the FA Cup final against Arsenal on Sunday. The 31-year-old is suffering from an Achilles tendon issue and he hopes that he will be fit in time to face the Gunners at Wembley as Chelsea look to win their first trophy under Frank Lampard.
Willian missed Chelsea’s final league game of the season against Wolverhampton Wanderers (2-0). The Blues managed to secure fourth place in the Premier League and thus Champions League football next season. Willian will not be there for Chelsea to play in Europe’s biggest tournament as he is set to leave the club on a free transfer.
And he could be switching to Chelsea’s opponents Arsenal next season. The Brazilian international wants to sign a three-year contract with Chelsea with the Blues not wanting to offer anything other than a two-year deal. The match could be a weird setting for Willian as Arsenal need to win the FA Cup to clinch a ticket for the Europa League.
