French side OSC Lille are interested in signing Angel Gomes on a free transfer after the teenager decided to leave Manchester United at the end of his contract. The 19-year-old was offered the chance to extend his stay at Old Trafford, but the England U20 international decided to reject the offer and leave the club.
Chelsea were reportedly interested in signing the creative midfielder but the Blues have been pursuing other targets instead. Sky Sports now report that Lille are ready to make a move for Gomes and that some negotiations between the club and his agent have already taken place.
It is reported that Spanish club Almeria also have interest in signing Gomes, as are a number of clubs in the Premier League and Championship. The young midfielder decided to leave United after a lack of chances of first team opportunities, making just 10 appearances for the club so far ahead of his 20th birthday.
