Jan Vertonghen ended an eight year spell with Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday after he decided not to sign a new contract with the club. The Belgian international is now a free agent and will be able to handpick his new club. Vertonghen admits he has a new club in mind and that an announcement will be made soon.
“That will be out sooner or later,” he told talkSPORT when asked about his next move. “Just considering the options now and making a good choice. The window is longer now and we have a bit of time to get the right option.” In recent weeks Vertonghen has been linked with moves to Manchester City and Internazionale.
As a free agent the former Ajax defender is not expected to be short of offers but it remains uncertain if he will remain in the Premier League or decide to move abroad instead. “It all depends,” he added. “I have got something in my head so we will see if that comes or not.”
