AC Milan coach Stefano Pioli has revealed he has high hopes that Zlatan Ibrahimovic will sign a new contract with the club. The Rossoneri are also in talks with Gianluigi Donnarumma and Hakan Calhanoglu to extend their contracts beyond 2021.
Pioli told reporters on Tuesday: “The club wants to resolve these situations as soon as possible. We will get together next week, now we have to think about the current season. Then there will be time to establish next year’s teams.” Donnarumma and Calhanoglu are both first team regulars under Pioli.
The coach has also admitted he enjoys working with Ibrahimovic and hopes to continue working with him next season: “In many things from the field point of view, he gave us solutions that we didn’t have. Ibra is an important presence both physically and technically. He also creates many spaces for his teammates. From the point of view of personality and character he was certainly decisive.”
