Antonio Conte has once again dismissed the chances of Internazionale signing Lionel Messi from FC Barcelona this summer. The Argentinian has been linked with the Italians over the past few weeks but Conte has insisted that it would be easier to move the big cathedral in Milan than signing Messi for Inter.
Earlier on Inter CEO Giuseppe Marotta has claimed the rumours could be labeled as ‘fantasy football’ and Conte supported the comments of his CEO after being asked if he would rather sign Messi or four players worth €50m. “I think both of those scenarios are pretty improbable”, he told Sky Italia.
“I am holding on tight to my players, as they are giving their all, I can guarantee that. It’d be easier to move the Duomo than to bring Messi to Inter!” The Nerazzurri moved back into second place in the Serie A on Tuesday after they beat Napoli 2-0 and they could secure the runners-up position if they beat Atalanta this weekend.
