An injury blow for Italian side Atalanta Bergamo as star player Josip Ilicic is likely to miss the clash with Paris Saint-Germain in the quarter final of the Champions League. Atalanta coach Gian Piero Gasperini admitted after his side beat Parma 2-1 that the Croatian is set to miss the tie with the Parisians.
After the game Gasperini confirmed the injury: “Ilicic is fundamental for us, it was his season up until March, he was devastating in both Serie A and Europe. It would be like Juventus missing Paulo Dybala or Lazio playing without Ciro Immobile, even Inter without Romelu Lukaku.”
Paris Saint-Germain also have injury problems as the club will be missing Kylian Mbappe against Atalanta and possibly longer. The French forward has a severe sprained ankle after he suffered a hard tackle in their 1-0 Coupe de France final win over Saint-Etienne. Mbappe will be out for at least three weeks.
