Brighton Hove & Albion have completed the signing of Ajax defender Joel Veltman. The 28-year-old Dutch international has signed a three-year contract with the club. Veltman is a versatile defender who can play as a central defender and as a right fullback.
Head coach Graham Potter said: “We’re delighted to welcome Joel to the club. He has terrific experience from his time with Ajax including the Champions League and, of course, with the Dutch national team. He is really looking forward to the challenge of playing in the Premier League and we’re delighted he is now a Brighton player and we’re looking forward to working with him.”
Veltman has made over 200 appearances for Ajax after developing through the club’s youth academy. He has won three Eredivisie titles and has been playing regularly in the Champions League. He has won 22 caps for the Dutch national team over the past few years.
