Arsenal will play Chelsea in the FA Cup final on Saturday and for the Gunners there is more at stake than the trophy. Several outlets from across Europe, including Gazzetta dello Sport, claim that the future of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will be decided by the result of the final at Wembley.
The Gabon striker will enter the final year of his contract next season and negotiations for a new deal have not resulted in an agreement up until now. It is believed that Aubameyang has been holding off the club to wait the outcome of the FA Cup final on Saturday. If Arsenal lose the match Aubameyang will request a transfer.
The Gunners will also be missing out on the Europa League next season if they fail to beat Chelsea at Wembley. It is believed that Aubameyang wants to play European football next season and is ready to leave Arsenal if the club can’t offer him at least the Europa League. Juventus and FC Barcelona have been alerted by the sudden developments and could be the first clubs to land offers if Arsenal lose the FA Cup final.
