Bayern defender: ‘I would not say no to a move to the Premier League’

Bayern Munich defender Jerome Boateng says he could be returning to the Premier League as the German could be sold by his club this summer. Boateng’s contract will run out next season and it is expected that he will not be offered a new deal. If Bayern want to earn some money on Boateng, the defender will have to be sold this summer.

And if that would be the case, a move back to the Premier League is an option. “I wouldn’t say no,” the former Manchester City man told CGTN Sports. “I love watching the Premier League and I loved playing there. It helped me a lot to train with world-class players.” As a City player Boateng made 24 appearances and 16 of those were in the Premier League.

“I don’t know what will happen next. You never know but it’s not like I would say that I don’t want to play there. It’s definitely one of my favourite leagues.” Boateng has been close to a Premier League return earlier as he was heavily linked with Manchester United in 2018. While he had agreed personal terms, the clubs failed to reach an agreement.
