Newcastle United are interested in Jesse Lingard. Manchester United have decided they want to sell the England international this summer after an unimpressive season in which he only scored a single goal for the club. Newcastle hope to convince Lingard of their chances of finishing in the top ten of the Premier League next season.
The 27-year-old Lingard will enter the final year of his contract next season and it is unlikely that the club will be offering him a new deal. The winger has been struggling with his form in the past two seasons, falling down the pecking order under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer over the course of the season.
It is believed that Lingard has also attracted the interest from several clubs outside of England, including Serie A side AS Roma and Bundeliga club Borussia Monchengladbach. It is unclear if Lingard, who has played 205 games for United during his career, is open to a move abroad ahead of a new club in the Premier League.
