Stade Rennes will not be allowing Eduardo Camavinga to leave the club this summer, insists the club’s president Nicolas Holveck. The 17-year-old is widely considered to be one of the greatest prospects in Europe following his impressive breakout season in the Ligue 1. Real Madrid and Bayern Munich have added the midfielder to their wanted list, while Paris Saint-Germain are believed to be also interested.
But Holveck insisted once again that the midfielder will not be making a transfer. “To be honest, there’s nothing with Bayern. I don’t think you should get your hopes up about this [upcoming] market,” Holveck told RMC Sport. “The bigger a club is, the more they’ve suffered from the crisis and therefore don’t expect any big signings this summer.”
“If we are lucky enough to get into the Champions League positions directly, that will improve our chances in the market. If not, in no case will players leave.” Camavinga made 36 appearances for Rennes during his first full season with the first team squad. It is believed Rennes have put an asking price on Camavinga that could exceed the €100m mark.
