Dayot Upamecano has reportedly signed a new multi-year contract with RB Leipzig that would end all speculations on a possible move to Arsenal. The French defender is considered as one of the most talented players in the Bundesliga and the Gunners have been interested in signing Upamecano for months.
It is believed that Leipzig even rejected a €60m offer from Arsenal last summer. The 21-year-old has one year left on his contract at the Germans and it is reported that he is keen on extending his stay with the Bundesliga club. It is also reported that Leipzig will include a release clause into the deal but it the height of the clause is unclear.
By signing a new deal Upamecano will be staying at RB Leipzig for at least another season. The club finished in third position this season, securing their spot in the Champions League next season. Meanwhile, the club is preparing for the Champions League return in August. Leipzig will face Atletico Madrid on August 13.
