Bayer Leverkusen: ‘We have not received an offer for Kai Havertz’

Bayer Leverkusen sporting director Simon Rolfes has revealed that his club has not received any offers for Kai Havertz. The 21-year-old has been linked to a move to Chelsea, but the Germans have now insisted that they are yet to receive an offer for the talented midfielder. Several outlets in England and Germany are certain that Havertz is on the verge of completing a move to the Blues.

However, Rolfes told Sky Germany that Havertz will not be leaving Leverkusen on the short-term. “So far we have no offer,” he said. “We know about the interest of clubs, but there is no official offer. We have said several times that we will end the season with our entire squad. And that includes Kai. That goes without saying for us.”

Chelsea are currently preparing for the FA Cup final against Arsenal this weekend and their second leg in the round of 16 of the Champions League against Bayern Munich. It has been suggested that the Blues are closing in on an agreement with Leverkusen, but seeing the comments of Rolfes it appears that Chelsea are concentrating on finishing the season first.
