Tottenham board reluctant to ‘take a hit’ on club record signing

The board of Tottenham Hotspur is very reluctant to sell Tanguy Ndombele this summer, reports the Daily Mail. Despite a difficult relationship with Jose Mourinho and interest from Internazionale and FC Barcelona, Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is not prepared to sell the 23-year-old midfielder.

Ndombele joined Tottenham last summer in a club record €60m transfer from Olympique Lyon. The report claims that Levy is very reluctant to sell the most expensive player in Tottenham’s history after a single season, especially since the club did not spend much on transfers in the seasons prior to Ndombele’s signing.

The club is now keen on understanding why Ndombele has been suffering since his move from Lyon and have offered their help to help in settle in London and at the club. Also, it is believed that Jose Mourinho is ready to set their differences aside to help the French midfielder regain his confidence at Tottenham.
