FC Barcelona and Inter Miami are the next clubs in line to have interest in signing Willian on a free transfer. The Brazilian will be a free agent once his contract with Chelsea will expire in August and now Sky Sports have revealed that Willian has caught the interest of at least five clubs.
Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur were the first teams to have contacted Willian and his agent to talk about terms. Spurs then seemed to be in the lead as Jose Mourinho holds an excellent relationship with the winger. However, there has not been an official offer from the Londoners and that has alerted other clubs including Barcelona and Miami.
Sky Sports claim that Miami have made the biggest offer for Willian after they had reportedly failed to land Luis Suarez as their marquee signing. The Brazilian is now being put forward as the club’s number one choice and it is believed David Beckham’s side will be offering a three-year deal and a significant pay rise.
Meanwhile, Chelsea are also considering upgrading their offer for Willian. The 31-year-old has been at the club since 2013 and has already expressed the desire to see out his career with the Blues. However, Chelsea did not want to meet Willian’s demands and offered him a two-year extension and a pay cut. But Sky Sports now claim that Chelsea are rethinking their strategy.
