FC Barcelona are keen on completing a second player swap deal with Juventus. The club has suffered from the coronavirus pandemic and it not able to spend a whole lot of money. The Spanish giants are therefore exploring other possibilities to strengthen their team and a player swap is probably their best bet. After already swapping Arthur Melo for Miralem Pjanic, Barcelona are keen on another swap deal with Juventus.
Calcio Mercato reports that Barcelona and Juventus have restarted talks about a potential second deal. This deal would involve Ivan Rakitic and Rodrigo Betancur. Rakitic has a contract until the end of next season and Barcelona are keen on selling the Croatian midfielder this summer.
Uruguayan midfielder Betancur will then make the move the other way around. The playmaker is ten years younger than Rakitic and he could be considered as a long-term replacement for Sergio Busquets. But Juventus could not be to keen on swapping a 33-year-old for a 23-year-old without any compensation. Spanish outlet Sport suggests Barcelona adding at least €30m to €40m into the deal.
