Gareth Bale has no intention of leaving Real Madrid this summer, despite the fact it has been clear that Zinedine Zidane will not use him. The Welsh forward has spent more time on the stands this season than on the team, playing less than 15 minutes for the club since the return of football in June.
A report from the Mirror claims that Bale has been speaking with Wales manager Ryan Giggs recently over his position on the team. Wales has qualified for Euro 2020, which has been postponed to 2021, and Giggs hoped his star player would decide to leave Madrid in order to be on his best form when the tournament starts next summer.
However, Bale has told Giggs he is happy where he is at the moment and that he is not prepared to switch clubs. It remains unclear if the winger’s decision will have any consequences for his spot on the Wales national team next season. Bale has a contract until the summer of 2022 at Madrid and he is one of the top earners.
