Kylian Mbappe is en route to play for Paris Saint-Germain in the quarter final of the Champions League, says his teammate Ander Herrera. Mbappe suffered a severe ankle sprain in last week’s won Coupe de France final against Saint-Etienne and it was feared the forward would be missing PSG’s Champions League campaign in August.
However, Mbappe has been making good progress in his recovery and he might be available to play against Atalanta. “We are optimistic with Kylian (Mbappe). We have seen that he can walk quietly. He’s very professional, he’s young. He really wants to play and we can be very calm. He works every day, morning and afternoon.”
“But if it’s not possible for him to play, we also have other solutions. Kylian is very important and I’m sure he will try to play.” PSG managed to grab their fourth trophy of the season without Mbappe on Friday as Olympique Lyon were beaten in the Coupe de la Ligue final after penalties (6-5).
