New FC Barcelona signing Francisco Trincao is eager to start training with his new teammates. The young Portuguese forward is set to join his new club as they prepare for next season. As a rookie at the Nou Camp, Trincao is aware that he will need to fight and prove himself to the players and managers.

โ€œFrom now on people will pay more attention to me, both on and off the pitch”, Trincao told Barca TV in his first interview as a Barcelona player. “But it doesnโ€™t matter. I will keep on doing the same: I do my best to keep improving every day.” The 20-year-old forward joined Barcelona in a deal reportedly worth โ‚ฌ31m.

The youngster is still over the moon with his move to the Spanish giants. “When Barรงa signed me I didnโ€™t know what to say, I had no words. I was speechless. Arriving at FC Barcelona is a source of pride and a very important step for me. I canโ€™t wait, Iโ€™ve been to Barcelona twice and I really like the city a lot. I want to go back there again.”

In his first season he has not set a particular goal for himself, but he is keen on showing himself to the team. โ€œI prefer to play on the right side, but Iโ€™ll do whatever the coach asks from me. Iโ€™m very strong mentally, I look for goals and make assists and help the team. I want to play as many games as possible, help the team and win as many titles as possible.โ€
